One of the things that makes Flying Dresses New York different: we go wherever you want to go. There’s no set studio, no fixed backdrop. New York City is our studio — all 300 square miles of it.
Below are some of our most popular and photogenic locations. But if you have somewhere special in mind, just let us know when you book. We’ve shot at hidden gardens, trendy shopping centers, iconic bridges, and secret waterfront spots. If it’s in or near NYC, we’ll make it work.
Brooklyn Bridge & DUMBO
Few backdrops in the world are more iconic than the Brooklyn Bridge. Shooting here gives your photos the drama of the suspension cables and towers, plus the full Manhattan skyline across the water.
DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is steps away and offers cobblestone streets, the famous archway view of the Manhattan Bridge, and gorgeous natural light that pours through the buildings in the late afternoon. We can do these two locations separately, or have one added on for a small charge.
⭐️ Best for: Dramatic, editorial shots with NYC skyline. Iconic, instantly recognizable.
🕒 Best time of day: Golden hour (1 hour before sunset) or sunrise for warm, glowing light.
Central Park
Central Park offers incredible variety — from open green spaces and scenic bridges to the Bethesda Fountain and the Reservoir with skyline views. In spring you can enjoy gorgeous flowers and some of the top cherry blossom locations in the city. In fall, you’ll have gorgeous and vibrant foliage frames every shot. This is one of our most requested locations year-round.
⭐️ Best for: Romantic, lush, fairy-tale imagery. Great for couples, brides-to-be, and birthday sessions.
🕒 Best time of day: Morning for soft light and fewer crowds; golden hour for warmth.
Freedom Tower + The Oculus
The most iconic and emotionally significant building in NYC, flying dress photoshoots with the Freedom Tower are truly one-of-a-kind. It can be perfectly paired with the Oculus, known for its unique architecture and more modern vibes.
⭐️ Best for: Modern and iconic captures, taking a variety of various angles.
🕒 Best time of day: Midday when it is less busy and has even lighting.
The Vessel + Hudson Yards
The Vessel is another iconic structure with its visually appealing honeycomb-like structure. During the holiday season it is draped with lights, and is perfectly paired with the stunning Shops at Hudson Yards.
